WELCOME ON BOARD

We really hope you enjoy looking around. We both love photography and constantly take a butt load of photos, and it’s not always easy to keep up with sharing them. So we wanted to create this space where we could show, not just our photos, but our thoughts and stories along side. Like a scrapbook that everyone can access and you don’t get glitter in the carpet making it, unless we’re do something very strange with the computer.

But before we get carried away with ourselves please listen carefully to the following announcement:

IMPORTANT PASSENGER INFORMATION

You do need to be logged in to view all our posts, so if we have not sent you login details already please drop us a line and we will get you set up! Once you have a username and password just hit LOG IN on the menu bar to get started.

Then take a look at our departures board and jump on any train you like to travel by Dostal! Wait should I explain our theme?…

ALL ABOARD

Now I’m apt to take a theme a little too far – ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’, ‘Pirate Day’, ‘Secret Garden themed wedding’ etc etc
But I really think everything just falls into place:

  • ‘Station’ – is the blog
  • ‘Trains’ – are the posts

So the ‘Departures board’ – displays all the ‘trains’, when they left, and where they stopped. And the ‘Station Information’ here tells you about the blog.

And it led into another thing we love…

‘IT’S QUICKER BY RAIL’

We’re big fans of the Art Deco ‘It’s Quicker by Rail’ posters and so the header of this blog is a poster we made ourselves in this style. ‘So talented’ you say – no stop – it was nothing, it only took like 3 days to make. We thought a lot about what to draw, maybe somewhere in Edinburgh as that’s our home. But in the end it had to be the Isle of Arran, looking down Glen Rosa at sunset. We don’t live on Arran, we’ve only been there a couple of times, but this island has everything lovely about Scotland in one place, and we took this picture at the end of a perfect day.

WHISTLE SOUND

So without further ado we wish you a pleasant journey, please keep all your personal belongings with you, and safety first everyone – please mind the gap when alighting from each page.
